Evangelization

When it comes to how we evangelize, there are two sides to the same coin. You must use both of these essential tactics to be effective.

We hear Protestants talking to people about "accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior." More Catholics are starting to talk this way too, but is this really a Catholic thing to do?

How can we pass on what we ourselves don't have? If we want to evangelize others by helping them meet Jesus and begin a relationship with Him, we must first make sure that we ourselves have an authentic relationship with Christ.

Jesus' heart is literally on fire with love for the human race. But how will people know this if they don't hear it? And how will they hear it if no one tells them?

Pope Francis said that the Holy Spirit is the protagonist of evangelization. So how do we let the Holy Spirit be in charge of all our evangelization efforts?

Having a personal relationship with Jesus is so wonderful, it can be tempting to keep it all to ourselves. But just like the Apostles in the upper room, we're called to go out and share the Gospel, not cling to it like a stuffed animal.

As fundamental preparation for evangelization, be sure you're an authentic Catholic Christian. Remain faithful to even the smallest things that God has called you to in your life. Then you'll be ready when the Lord calls you to share the Gospel.

You may be tempted to feel like only certain types of "special" Catholics are able to evangelize. But the Lord uses our own personalities and temperaments to help lead people to Himself. Turns out you can evangelize after all. It just looks different.

Whether it's justified fears or irrational ones, we Catholics are usually just not used to evangelizing. It's hard. So where do we start?
