Kansas City Welcomes LOTWEM
Over the weekends of May 1-3 and May 29-31, representatives from eight parishes of the Archdiocese of Kansas attended Leadership Retreats. At the invitation of Matt Karr, Consultant for Evangelization and Catechesis and with the approval of The Most Reverend Joseph F. Naumann, D.D., Archbishop, LOTWEM held two leadership retreats this past May, attended by representatives of seven parishes. A strong advocate of parish-based evangelization, his Excellency has empowered Karr to promote LOTW and assist parishes throughout the Archdioceses in its implementation. Karr, himself a zealous advocate for evangelization, has been slowly laying the groundwork for LOTWEM in Kansas City over the past couple of years. This patient work is now bearing wonderful fruit. This Fall four of the parishes in attendance will hold their first Parish retreat. The parishes of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Topeka), Most Pure Heart of Mary (Topeka), Mother Theresa (Topeka), and St. Patrick (Kansas City) will hold retreats on October 9-11, October 16-19, October 23-26 and November 13-15, respectively. Our LOTWEM brothers and sisters from parishes within the Diocese of Lincoln Nebraska will comprise these retreat teams. Main Evangelizers include Steve May, Pat Maly, Dick Leib and Sharon Wojtasek. Holy Trinity Parish and the combined parishes of Immaculate Conception, Holy Cross and St. Stanislaus are still in the process of discernment as to whether/when to begin the LOTW Process. Please join in prayerful support of Archbishop Naumann, Matt Karr, these parishes, the retreat teams and the Fall retreat attendees. Also, please ask the Holy Spirit to stir up His holy flame and spread the fire of LOTWEM throughout the Archdiocese. |
